LongevityIn the time that humans have been writing things down, there have been a lot of "secrets" of longevity put down on paper. With the invention of the Internet, there are even more of these secrets floating around the world. Before you sigh wondering why one more list of the secrets to longevity, realize that our list is rather small. This doesn't mean the things we talk about can't help you, however. In fact, if you follow these four tips for longevity, you can do a lot to live longer and look younger while doing it.

Top Four Tips for Longevity

  1. Eat Healthy - One of the very best ways to live longer is to eat better. Not only the types of foods you eat, but the times and quantities that you eat.
  2. Exercise - In addition to having a healthy diet, making sure you get enough exercise is important. You don't need to go to extremes, but you should make sure you get your heart rate up for at least 15 to 30 minutes a day in any way you can.
  3. Avoid Stress - This is easier said than done for some, but learning to control stress and avoid it can go a long way in making sure you live a little longer. Stress puts stress on the body and can cause it to age faster than it normally would.
  4. Avoid Harmful Substances - From tobacco to caffeine to alcohol to fatty foods, there are many substances that aren't good for you, even if they taste good when you're consuming them. If you can cut these out of your life, you stand a better chance of living longer.

There are other things you should do and not do, of course, but these are the basics. If you follow them, you're going to find that it's not that difficult to live longer and have more fun while doing it as well. The secrets of longevity aren't really secrets. That said, the secret perhaps is in whether or not you apply what you know to your life. If you have the secret of longevity, but you don't put it into action, are you better off? Not really. Not that you have some of the secrets of longevity, it's time to do something about it. The good news is that it's worth it because you'll live a longer, happier life.
